Answer: D) oropharynx. Subacute bacterial endocarditis has manifestations of fever, splenomegaly, petechiae, anemia, and hematuria. The cause of subacute BE is often Streptococcus viridans after oral or dental procedures. Prophylaxis antibiotics should be given prior to these procedures for people at risk.
